Repair of drum dryers
… in a chemical plant
Between 1990 and 2001, we regularly carried out repairs to various drum dryers for a chemical plant, including a major repair in which approx. 5,000 m of grooved tubes were removed, the diaphragms reamed and the existing grooved tubes reinstalled.
At another of this customer’s plants, we completely overhauled a drum dryer in 2002/2003. This involved removing the grooved tubes and cutting out a 15 m long weft. The new sections and six new diaphragms were manufactured in our workshop and delivered to the construction site. The sections were assembled on site and welded to the drum ends. The existing grooved pipes were then reinstalled.
