Production of evaporative cooler Wintershall
… as part of an evaporator system
The steel tank was manufactured on behalf of Ebner from Eiterfeld for the K+S KALI GmbH plant in Wintershall. With a diameter of approx. 6.35 m, the structure measures 14.6 m in height.
The evaporation cooler was built in approx. 3,000 production hours from week 47, 2012 to week 7, 2013. It is part of a major project in the package of measures for water protection at K+S KALI GmbH. Due to its size, the evaporator was built and delivered in two parts. It was first welded together on the construction site at the Wintershall plant and later lifted into place with a crane. The lower part weighed about 31 tons, the upper part about 27 tons. The heavy transport was carried out by the company CC Bäuml.
